Human beings were the slaves of robots that controlled a damaged world in 2054. Thousands of people are battling their oppressors in the middle of all of it. The Resistance is the name of the group that John is in control of. To gain control, the machine despatched numerous robots into the past on a pursuit to murder John. To protect his younger self, John sent his most gifted and admired Resistance soldier back in time. The game starts then.
